CBS Mornings will officially return to the CBS Broadcast Center on September 29th, ending its four-year stay at the Times Square studio at 1515 Broadway. The move concludes a chapter at the high-profile location known as Studio 1515, where the morning program underwent a rebranding and relaunch in 2021.
The network's decision to relocate stems from a broader cost-cutting initiative following the acquisition by Skydance Media. Joining CBS Evening News at the Broadcast Center, CBS Mornings will share space with its evening counterpart. In January 2025, the CBS Evening News program transitioned from Washington, D.C., to a new set in Studio 47, which utilizes an LED volume adjacent to the CBS News newsroom.
The Times Square studio, situated within the ViacomCBS headquarters building, is slated for redevelopment. A project spearheaded by SL Green, Caesars Entertainment, Roc Nation, and Live Nation proposes transforming the space into Caesars Palace Times Square, a gaming and entertainment complex. Studio 1515 previously hosted MTV’s “Total Request Live” and served as the location for CBS’s 2020 election coverage before its renovation for CBS Mornings. Unlike the studios used by "Good Morning America" and "Today," the CBS studio lacked direct street-level access, limiting opportunities for live audience interaction. "Good Morning America" relocated from Times Square to 7 Hudson Square in June 2025.
