CBS News 24/7 has bolstered its evening schedule with the addition of a new primetime newscast, “CBS News 24/7 Prime Time.” Anchored by Elizabeth Cook of CBS News Bay Area, the program airs at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT. Produced at KPIX in San Francisco, the show airs after the weekday edition of “CBS Evening News Plus.”
“CBS News 24/7 Prime Time” offers a blend of news reporting, insightful analysis, and unique segments created in partnership with prominent CBS divisions such as CBS Sports HQ, “60 Minutes,” “48 Hours,” and the CBS News political team. This expansion significantly increases the network’s daily live programming to 13.5 hours.
The streaming network, rebranded as CBS News 24/7 in 2022, boasts impressive reach, available in 91 countries and on 30 digital platforms. This latest addition follows the successful launch of “The Takeout with Major Garrett,” which airs at 5:00 p.m. ET, and builds upon CBS's previous attempt at primetime news, “CBS News Prime Time,” later renamed “The Daily Report,” hosted by John Dickerson. The expansion reflects CBS News 24/7's commitment to providing comprehensive and timely news coverage to a global audience.
