CNN has announced new assignments for its White House and Capitol Hill teams, coinciding with Donald Trump's second term and the 119th Congress starting January 20, 2025. This reshuffling is standard practice for networks when new administrations begin.

Kaitlan Collins continues as CNN’s chief White House correspondent and anchor of “The Source with Kaitlan Collins.” She’ll report from the White House across all platforms, primarily anchoring from Washington and traveling with Trump for domestic and international events. This arrangement builds on her previous term as chief correspondent.

Kristen Holmes is now senior White House correspondent. Her extensive coverage of Trump, including his 2016 campaign and first term, and her recent reporting on the Trump-Vance campaign, make her a valuable addition to the White House team.

Alayna Treene joins as a CNN reporter covering the White House, bringing experience from Trump's 2024 campaign and her previous role at Axios, where she covered Trump's first term.

Jeff Zeleny, CNN’s Chief National Affairs Correspondent, will also cover the Trump administration, focusing on the impact of its policies.

Several experienced reporters will cover specific aspects of the administration. Phil Mattingly, CNN Anchor and Chief Domestic Correspondent, will focus on the American economy. Priscilla Alvarez will continue her extensive coverage of immigration.

Kevin Liptak becomes CNN’s senior White House reporter, bringing years of experience covering three US presidents. Betsy Klein takes on the role of senior White House producer, having covered multiple administrations.

Manu Raju remains CNN’s Chief Congressional Correspondent, leading the Capitol Hill team. Lauren Fox serves as congressional correspondent, along with Annie Grayer and Sarah Ferris.
