Since the settings menu may differ on different satellite receivers, let's consider channel search using the menu of the most popular tuner today.
Some receivers have a so-called "blind" (automatic) channel search. However, since this feature is not available in all tuners and does not always work correctly, we will not consider this search option in this article.
Manual channel search in a satellite receiver
First, in the frequency table you need to determine the broadcasting parameters of the required channels.
At the same time, you need to make sure that your satellite system is tuned to receive from the satellites on which the desired channels are located.
1. In the main menu of the receiver, find the settings (installation) of the antenna. If there is no such item, in some tuners these settings can be found in the "channel search" item. Entering this menu item, we should find the satellite settings parameters (satellite name, LNB type, DiSEqC, polarization, LNB power, signal level and quality scale, etc.). These captions may vary slightly in different receivers.
2. Press "OK" on the satellite name, and select the desired one from the drop-down list.
3. Press the yellow button on the remote control, as a result, we go to the frequency editing menu.
4. Press the green button ("Add"), and enter the channel broadcasting parameters, according to the frequency table. If such a frequency already exists in the receiver, the tuner will display a corresponding message and go to the specified frequency.
5. After all manipulations, it remains only to press the red button of the remote control ("Transponder scan") and then - the "OK" button to search for channels according to the specified parameters.
6. Next, using the "EXIT" button on the remote control, exit all installation menus, while agreeing to save all changes made.
Usually, new scanned channels appear at the end of the general channel list.
