The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Eurovision Services have finalized a significant long-term agreement, strengthening their collaboration and guaranteeing the ongoing delivery of sports coverage to EBU members. This renewed partnership builds upon a history of successful collaboration, ensuring the seamless coordination and operational support EBU members have come to rely on for decades.

Under this agreement, Eurovision Services will continue to provide essential services, including a dedicated helpdesk, supporting the distribution of thousands of hours of coverage across a diverse range of sporting events, encompassing winter and summer sports, cycling, and other major competitions. The agreement also acknowledges the evolving technological landscape by introducing Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) distribution, a key advancement in ensuring reliable content delivery.

Furthermore, Eurovision Services will contribute to the Eurovision Sports streaming platform, an EBU initiative designed to enhance and supplement members' existing sports coverage offerings. This multifaceted approach ensures that all members receive comprehensive support, leveraging both satellite and IP distribution methods. This ensures optimal adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the modern media landscape.

“This agreement demonstrates our mutual commitment to upholding the exceptional standards of service that EBU members rely on and trust. It reinforces our dedication to improving value for money for our members and providing innovation, collaboration, and ensuring access to the tools and support they need to succeed in an ever-evolving media landscape,” said Glen Killane, Executive Director, EBU Sport.

Fabien Robineau, Chief Commercial Officer, Eurovision Services, added: “We look forward to continuing our work with the EBU to support members in delivering exceptional sports programming worldwide.”
