FanDuel Sports Network, a property of Main Street Sports Group, has announced a substantial increase in viewership for its National Hockey League and National Basketball Association broadcasts during the period leading up to late October. The network attributes this growth to heightened engagement across both its streaming and traditional linear platforms.

Specifically, for the first three weeks of the NHL season, FanDuel Sports Network recorded a 29 percent increase in overall audience size when factoring in linear, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and TV everywhere platforms. Notably, the total minutes streamed surged by 46 percent, with the number of unique streamers climbing by 47 percent. The linear television audience also saw a healthy increase of 26 percent.

The early stages of the NBA season have also proven fruitful for the network, showing a 12 percent rise in total audience through October 24. Streaming minutes experienced a 36 percent jump, while unique streamers increased by an impressive 56 percent. Linear television viewership was also up by 7 percent.

The network also highlighted the growing importance of connected TV platforms, which now account for 73 percent of all streaming minutes. This suggests a growing trend towards communal, in-home viewing experiences. Access to games is provided through the FanDuel Sports Network app, Prime Video, and via traditional pay TV providers.

"Fans are engaging with our coverage wherever they are, on whichever platform they choose," said David Coletti, vice president and head of research at FanDuel Sports Network. "Streaming and DTC access continue to elevate engagement, while linear remains a powerful local driver. That’s the strength of our integrated model."

FanDuel Sports Network broadcasts live NHL games featuring the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, and St. Louis Blues. On the NBA front, its coverage includes the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, and San Antonio Spurs.

The network’s sports coverage is anchored by its nightly pre-game program, “Countdown Live,” which is hosted by Stan Verrett.
