At the 2025 NAB Show (April 6-9, Las Vegas Convention Center, booth W2067), Imagine Communications will debut the latest advancements in the company’s Aviator Automation platform. Designed for modern, dynamic media operations, Aviator Automation has seen rapid adoption since its launch, currently managing over 100 channels for numerous major clients globally. The platform facilitates multisite channel origination through a unified interface controlling both ground and cloud resources. This enables quicker channel deployment, scalable operations based on demand, and enhanced security and control.

Integration with Imagine Communications’ Aviator Orchestrator™ platform further boosts deployment speed and operational agility. Users can instantly provision resources and leverage cloud capabilities as needed. API control over Amagi Cloudport channels allows seamless management of both broadcast and FAST channels. “Our customers are facing a two-pronged challenge, as channel playout has become increasingly complex and everyone is under pressure to do more with less,” says Brendon Mills, chief product officer at Imagine Communications. “In an environment where TCO and OPEX are top of mind, Aviator Automation is the right solution at the right time. It enables customers to use a mix of ground and cloud resources based on economic considerations to efficiently and effectively drive more screens and reach more viewers.”

New features at the NAB Show emphasize usability, security, and operational efficiency across diverse environments. These include role-based access control (RBAC) enhancing security by restricting access based on user roles and groups. A new timeline view optimizes resource and operator allocation, simplifying multichannel and regional playout management. Operators can visually compare channels, monitor consistent break structures, and receive real-time alerts.

Further improvements include a redesigned playlist UI for speed and clarity, providing faster navigation and streamlined controls. A successful cloud-based project with a major broadcaster saw the deployment of 10 fully integrated broadcast channels in record time using Aviator Automation and Aviator Orchestrator. “This project highlights the Aviator platform’s ability to support complex workflows, reduce deployment time, and meet the evolving demands of hybrid media environments,” added Mills. “With fully integrated, end-to-end workflows, secure containerized deployment, and seamless control over both on-prem and cloud channels, Aviator gives broadcasters the tools they need to scale operations with confidence and agility.”
