Lithuania’s leading commercial broadcaster, LNK, has partnered with OTT platform provider Backscreen as part of a modernisation programme for its streaming services. This collaboration will allow LNK to enhance monetization strategies and seamlessly support multiple screens. The deployment will utilize Tet Cloud.
“We aim to provide our viewers with the most convenient access to LNK TV Group’s video content – whether via a mobile application, a smart TV, or by streaming popular shows on our website. The upcoming product will significantly expand the available video content for registered users and offer even more – exclusive access to LNK Group’s TV series, shows, and other video content up to a month before they air on television. Most importantly, viewers will be able to enjoy all of this for free,” says Zita Sarakienė, CEO, LNK TV group.
LNK operates five live TV channels available free-to-air through terrestrial and cable networks. It produces around 35% of its content. “Advertisement and live TV are still the major phenomena in the media industry, despite all the SVOD rush. Backscreen respects it and provides a platform that takes the most of the present to make the best for the future. And it aligns with our business model.” – says Jan Frelek, CCO, Backscreen.
Backscreen will provide the OTT platform, incorporating advertising-based video on demand (AVOD) and dynamic ad insertion (DAI) for in-stream monetisation. The platform will also integrate display monetisation within its user interface. The user experience (UX) design will be cross-generational, appealing to traditional live TV viewers while smoothly transitioning them to a non-linear viewing experience. It will also incorporate the latest video UX standards within its VOD portal.
