NEP Group, a leading provider of media services for sports and entertainment, unveiled its latest technological innovations and investments at the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas. These advancements span connected production solutions, cutting-edge mobile units, specialized capture technologies, and the visionary TFC platform, all aimed at reshaping live production.

Innovation isn’t just a goal at NEP — it’s who we are,” stated Mike Werteen, President of NEP Americas and Global Chief Commercial Officer. “Whether it’s delivering Netflix’s NFL Christmas Day broadcast, supporting the launch of the new PGA Tour Studios, or providing high-speed specialty capture solutions to the NBA, our teams are creating smarter, more flexible, and advanced solutions for our global clientele.”

NEP's expansion of connected facilities includes new large-scale production control rooms in its South Florida Production Hub and an expanded network operations center in Dallas. “We’ve enhanced our ability to seamlessly integrate client facilities, our production hubs, and venues worldwide. This allows us to offer a unique array of solutions via multiple channels, encompassing signal acquisition and transmission, multilingual commentary, and dynamic ad insertion,” Werteen explained.

NEP’s commitment to mobile units remains strong, with seven new units launched in the past 18 months, and more to come in 2025. These range from large, multi-trailer units to agile remote production units. “Mobile units are core to our business. We recently launched several new trucks globally and are introducing a new IP-based truck in the Middle East. This expansion will continue with the launch of multiple next-generation IP trucks, featuring TFC, this fall for the NBA on NBC,” Werteen noted.

NEP’s Specialty Capture team is leveraging 5G, 4K, and AI technologies. “Our specialty capture team is integrating the latest innovations to advance camera technology, particularly with AI,” Werteen said. “We’ve made significant strides with AI-driven automated camera solutions, initially used for tennis, and developed automated camera tracking for greyhound racing in the U.K.”

The TFC platform, designed for streamlined IP/2110 workflows, offers integrated broadcast control, SDN, real-time monitoring, and global support. “We’re connecting, capturing, and creating in unprecedented ways, as demonstrated by our use of TFC for virtual workflows at a major Parisian sporting event. We’re continuing TFC’s development and eager to showcase these advancements at the NAB Show,” Werteen added.

NEP will have nearly 100 staff members at the NAB Show, offering appointments and discussing career opportunities. Expert panel appearances will feature Casper Choffat, Justin Pohlman, John Guntenaar, Dan Murphy, Dan Turk, and Mike Werteen.
