In a significant development for global hockey fans, the National Hockey League (NHL) and DAZN have signed a multi-year agreement. This deal designates DAZN as the exclusive provider of NHL.TV in nearly 200 countries and territories, starting with the 2025-26 season. This excludes the United States, Canada, and the Nordic countries.

DAZN’s platform will offer comprehensive coverage. This includes live and on-demand access to every NHL game, encompassing the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Stanley Cup Final. While some live games might have blackouts in certain regions, on-demand viewing will always be an option post-game. Fans will have the flexibility to subscribe to NHL.TV individually or add it to existing DAZN subscriptions.

The service’s accessibility is another key aspect. NHL.TV will be readily available across a range of DAZN-compatible devices such as smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and gaming consoles. NHL Chief Operating Officer Steve McArdle highlighted the importance of this partnership for the league's global growth strategy, stating, “Media distribution is at the core of our global strategy.” He also noted that 30 percent of current NHL players hail from outside North America.

DAZN Group Chief Executive Officer Shay Segev echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that this agreement aligns perfectly with DAZN's strategy of providing top-tier international sports content via a user-friendly digital platform. “We’re excited to bring a premium North American sports property to a broad international audience,” Segev said. NHL.TV's integration into DAZN’s broader sports lineup, which already includes NFL Game Pass, PGA Tour Pass, and FIBA Courtside 1891, further enhances its value proposition.

Existing NHL.TV subscribers will receive timely updates on transitioning to the new DAZN platform before the 2025-26 season commences.
