The Pac-12 Conference and CBS Sports have announced a major extension to their media partnership. This expanded agreement will run from the 2025 football season through the 2030-31 academic year, establishing CBS Sports as the primary media partner for the newly restructured conference.

The deal ensures that CBS and Paramount+ will broadcast key Pac-12 football and men’s basketball events, including the annual championship games in both sports. The agreement guarantees at least three regular season football games and three men’s basketball games per season on CBS and Paramount+, with additional games airing on CBS Sports Network.

This media rights extension is a crucial component of the broader Pac-12 restructuring. The conference is set for a relaunch in the 2026-27 season with both new and returning members. CBS Sports is the first long-term media partner announced under this new configuration, with further partnerships expected to be revealed following ongoing negotiations. Octagon, acting as the Pac-12’s exclusive media rights advisor, played a key role in negotiating both the initial 2025 agreement and the current extension.

The revamped Pac-12 includes Oregon State, Washington State, and six other institutions: Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, and Utah State. The conference intends to add at least one more football-playing, all-sports member before the 2026-27 season. Current data suggests the new Pac-12 will be among the top five national conferences for both football and men’s basketball, based on rankings such as the College Football Playoff, AP Top 25, FPI averages, and NCAA tournament appearances.

Oregon State and Washington State will remain within the existing Pac-12 framework until the 2025-26 academic year, thanks to a grace period granted by the NCAA. The complete realignment will be implemented in the 2026-27 season. For 2025, the Pac-12 will have a unique one-season deal involving The CW, CBS, and ESPN.
