Paramount is streamlining its streaming offering. The highest tier of Paramount+, previously marketed as “Paramount+ with Showtime,” has been rebranded as “Paramount+ Premium.” This change, effective June 23, 2025, removes the Showtime branding while retaining all the content previously included. The company merged the operational aspects of both brands earlier in 2023, initially using the new name for the linear channel before extending it to the top-tier streaming service.

The name change is being rolled out across the streamer's website and other materials, although Paramount is acknowledging that updates may not be immediate everywhere. Importantly, pricing for both Paramount+ and Paramount+ Premium remains unchanged. The decision to de-emphasize Showtime in the name stems from the inclusion of select network programming in the standard-tier subscription. “The premium plan name reflects the broad and diverse offerings across both plan tiers. Showtime programming remains an important part of Paramount+, and is still prominently represented on the service,” Paramount clarified on its website FAQ.

It's worth noting that the “Paramount+ with Showtime” branding will persist for the linear channel distributed via cable, satellite, and vMVPDs. This rebranding follows Warner Bros. Discovery's announcement to revert its streaming service, Max, back to HBO Max later in 2025. Max also recently updated its logo in March 2025, a move that some speculate was a precursor to the name change back to HBO Max. This change, unlike Paramount+'s, required a logo update. Paramount+, however, didn't need a logo update since the rebranding primarily affects the streaming tier's name.

Maintaining “Showtime” in the linear network’s name is a strategic choice. While the overall strategy might seem slightly awkward, it serves to continually remind linear TV viewers of the existence of Paramount+, potentially influencing their decisions if they decide to cancel their pay TV subscription in the future.
