Paramount is streamlining its streaming offerings. The highest tier of Paramount+, previously known as "Paramount+ with Showtime," has undergone a rebranding. Effective June 23, 2025, it is now called "Paramount+ Premium." This change removes the "Showtime" branding from the streaming service while maintaining the inclusion of Showtime programming.
The decision to merge the brands’ operations and initially use the new name for the linear channel was announced earlier in 2023. The rebranding to "Paramount+ Premium" for the top streaming tier was subsequently announced to subscribers on June 23, 2025, and updated across various platforms. Paramount is however advising customers that the name change may not be immediately reflected everywhere.
Pricing remains unchanged for both Paramount+ and Paramount+ Premium. The company explains the decision on its FAQ page: “The premium plan name reflects the broad and diverse offerings across both plan tiers. Showtime programming remains an important part of Paramount+, and is still prominently represented on the service.”
The linear channel, however, will retain the "Paramount+ with Showtime" branding for distribution via cable, satellite, and vMVPDs. This decision is likely a strategic move to maintain brand visibility among traditional television viewers.
