RTL Deutschland has expanded its executive leadership team. The company appointed Maximilian Orgonyi as Chief Transformation Officer, effective August 1, 2025.

In this new role, Orgonyi will be responsible for overseeing the German broadcaster's transformation initiatives, AI partnerships, and procurement. He will report directly to RTL Deutschland CEO Stephan Schmitter.

Orgonyi joined RTL Deutschland in 2023 from McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in strategy and corporate finance within the firm’s Media & Tech practice. At RTL, he initially led the strategy team and later took on additional responsibility for central procurement. Most recently, he has been spearheading the development of the company's AI partnership management.

“Maximilian Orgonyi is an outstanding transformation expert with a clear strategic vision for the evolving video content market,” said Schmitter. “His expertise has made him an integral part of our negotiations for the planned acquisition of Sky Deutschland. I’m delighted to welcome him to our executive team as we position RTL Deutschland for the future.”

Orgonyi commented: “The media markets are undergoing a fundamental transformation, from streaming to artificial intelligence. RTL Deutschland has a clear strategic response to this change. I am grateful to Stephan Schmitter for his trust and look forward to helping drive this strategy forward together with our leadership and strong teams.”

Prior to joining McKinsey in 2017, Orgonyi worked in mergers and acquisitions at Deutsche Bank in London. He holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (MBA), the University of St. Gallen (Finance and Accounting), and Vienna University of Economics and Business (Business Administration).
