Building on the success of its inaugural season, which reached over 20 million unique viewers, Scripps Sports has announced its production plans and broadcast team for the 2025 season of “NWSL on Ion,” beginning March 15, 2025. The network will air top NWSL matches every Saturday night during the regular season. Ion, a widely watched network available across various platforms, will bring the excitement of the league to 123 million homes.
The network’s weekly studio shows, a first for the NWSL on broadcast television, will provide match analysis, highlight reels, previews, and feature stories on players, coaches, and teams. Seb Salazar and Kylen Mills will serve as co-hosts. Salazar, known for his work on ESPN, brings extensive soccer expertise. Mills, an Emmy-nominated broadcaster and former college soccer player, adds valuable insight from her playing experience. “Seb Salazar is an exceptional talent in soccer reporting, bringing a wealth of experience and deep-rooted passion for the game,” said Brian Lawlor, president, Scripps Sports. “Kylen Mills is a distinguished sportscaster whose extensive on-air analyst experience and deep understanding of soccer from her own time on the pitch make her an invaluable addition to our team. We are delighted to have Seb and Kylen at the helm of our NWSL on ION studio show this season and eagerly anticipate the outstanding coverage and analysis they will bring to viewers.”
The production team, led by Quinn Pacini, vice president of broadcast operations, and executive producer Nicole Denne, includes Taylor Quellman as the studio show producer. Scripps Sports and the NWSL will again co-produce the Saturday night doubleheaders, with returning broadcast teams: JP Dellacamera and Jill Loyden for match one, and Maura Sheridan and Jordan Angeli for match two. “In our first season of coverage, Ion quickly became a popular home for the NWSL,” said Pacini. “We are picking up where we left off with a robust and experienced broadcast team, and we look forward to another great season for NWSL fans across the country.”
The season features 50 NWSL matches across 25 weeks. The opening doubleheader on March 15th features Ally Sentnor and Utah Royals FC vs. Racheal Kundananji and Bay FC, followed by Rose Lavelle and Gotham FC against Lynn Williams and Reign FC. Ion’s 2025 schedule promises further exciting matchups.
