SES and Arqiva have solidified their partnership with a renewed multi-year contract. The agreement ensures continued satellite capacity on SES’s key video hub located at 28.2 degrees East. This orbital position is a primary source for transmissions from Sky and numerous other broadcasters that target viewers in the UK and Ireland. The service reaches approximately 10 million homes.

While the specific financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, its significance is noteworthy, particularly considering Sky's increasing shift towards IP-based content delivery. Arqiva, also a provider of terrestrial transmission services, is actively supporting an initiative to sustain Freeview services until at least 2040.
