The SpaceNews Icon Awards are now accepting nominations for their 2025 ceremony! Previously known as the SpaceNews Awards for Innovation and Excellence, this prestigious event continues to honor leaders in the space industry.
Nominations are open for exceptional individuals and organizations that have significantly impacted space exploration, technology, and innovation. The deadline for nominations is September 12th. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025.
Several award categories recognize achievements in various aspects of the space sector. These include a Lifetime Achievement Award honoring a career of significant impact; an Individual Achievement Award recognizing leadership and innovation; a Commercial Space Achievement Award; an Innovative Technology Award; and an Emerging Space Company Award.
Other categories highlight sustainability efforts (Sustainability and Environmental Impact Award), successful partnerships (Partnership/deal of the Year), and outstanding achievements in civil and military space (Civil Space Achievement of the Year and Military Space Achievement of the Year).
The awards also recognize advancements in space AI (Space AI Breakthrough) and successful international collaborations (International Collaboration Award).
To nominate, submit the required information by September 12th. The SpaceNews Icon Awards jury will review nominations and select finalists, who will then complete a detailed nomination form. The organizers reserve the right not to award a category if no suitable winner is found.
