For the first time, Telemundo-owned stations serving New England will offer a Spanish-language simulcast of NBC Sports Boston's live coverage of Boston Celtics games. This exciting initiative begins on Saturday, March 29, 2025, when the Celtics play the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m. Eastern. The simulcast will continue on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 6 p.m. Eastern, coinciding with the Celtics’ “Noche Latina” celebration against the Washington Wizards.
Leading the Spanish-language commentary will be Jesús Quiñones, Sports Anchor for “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra,” serving as the play-by-play announcer. He will be joined by analyst Giddel Padilla, a former professional basketball player and University of Massachusetts guard. The Spanish-language broadcast will be available on Telemundo Boston (WNEU), Telemundo Connecticut (WRDM), Telemundo Providence (WRIW), and Telemundo Springfield (WDMR).
The English-language coverage, featuring announcer Drew Carter and analyst Brian Scalabrine, will remain on NBC Sports Boston. "We are proud to provide our best-in-class live coverage of the Celtics with Spanish-language commentary to fans across New England for the first time on our Telemundo stations," stated Chris Wayland, president and general manager of NBC10 Boston, NECN, Telemundo Boston, and NBC Sports Boston. "The Celtics have a deeply loyal and passionate fanbase, and we are pleased to serve them in new and unique ways."
The Celtics’ “Noche Latina” on April 6th will include various special events.
