Zero Density, a leader in virtual studio and on-air graphics, announced a revolutionary template-based workflow. This system allows broadcasters to manage virtual studios, augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) experiences, alongside on-air graphics, all within a single, unified platform.

Building on a decade of integrating Unreal Engine into broadcast workflows, Zero Density now extends its Unreal Engine 5 expertise to on-air graphics production. Their new system supports templates for graphics, video walls, stingers, virtual studios, and AR applications.

The Lino workflow allows template-based playout for all graphics, regardless of whether they are 2D, 3D, or virtual. This eliminates the need to switch between different platforms, resulting in faster turnaround times and more creative freedom. “This means fast turnaround graphics using Unreal Engine and more time for creativity in addition to accommodating last-minute changes on news, weather or sports shows on pre-rendered clips,” explains Zero Density.

With familiar workflows, motion graphics designers can quickly adapt to Unreal Engine 5, creating content within days, even without prior game engine experience. The solution optimizes resource use by eliminating the need for separate toolsets for virtual studio production and on-air graphics. Reality5 ensures brand consistency across all graphics.

Reality5 introduces state awareness to AR graphics with transition logic, a unique industry feature. This allows broadcasters to extend the same state-aware logic used in on-air graphics to AR, creating dynamic, automated transitions. This streamlines live production, reducing operator workload and ensuring seamless execution. "Automated updates with the changed states and intuitive transitions allow broadcasters to focus on storytelling, making high-pressure live shows more efficient."

The result is a cleaner viewing experience and increased audience engagement. Zero Density will showcase this workflow at NAB Show 2025 (Booth SL4223), including exclusive talk sessions and happy hours. A virtual PostNAB Live webinar is also planned for May 22nd.
