The process of disabling the Cryptoworks conditional access system of the Arqiva package, which broadcasts from the ASTRA 4A (4.8°E) satellite, has begun.
The process is being carried out in stages - one of the first channels for which this coding system is no longer used became ESPN Classic. Currently, the TV channel is encoded only and exclusively in Viaccess PC 4.0. Until recently, the channel was encoded in both systems.

In the near future, the Cryptoworks system will be disabled on other channels of the Arqiva package, namely Travel Channel and erotic channels Hustler TV and Blue Hustler. These are the last channels that used the long-unupdated system. The reason for the migration from Cryptoworks to Viaccess is the piracy of the Cryptoworks system and the complete lack of support from its owner - Irdeto.

It is worth noting that these channels are quite popular among fans of satellite television.
Parallel encoding was supposed to be carried out until the end of 2012, but the process was extended - perhaps not every operator managed to cope with the changes.
