BBC Studios has significantly increased the availability of its channels in Central and Eastern Europe. New launches in the Czech Republic and Romania bring popular BBC brands to wider audiences.

In the Czech Republic, Vodafone customers can now access BBC Earth and BBC First. BBC Earth is part of the Vodafone TV package, while BBC First is included in the Family & All in One packages. Both channels offer fully localized content, with BBC First providing subtitles and BBC Earth using a mix of dubbing and subtitles.

Orange Romania has added BBC First to its basic DVB-C, IPTV, and OTT package, joining BBC Earth and BBC News. This means Orange now carries the entire BBC Studios portfolio available in Romania. The channel features Romanian subtitles.

Bartosz Witak, SVP & General Manager for CEE & MENAT at BBC Studios, stated: ‘We are very happy to announce the conclusion of these deals over the last few weeks, which significantly expands our viewer base in Czech Republic, extends our partnership with Orange Romania and strengthens our Warsaw office. “Thanks to our growing partnership with Vodafone and Orange, we are able to bring Czech and Romanian audiences the best of British storytelling and factual entertainment. We sincerely hope our collaborations continue in the future and the ties only grow stronger.”

Programming highlights include Silent Witness (series 27), Guilt, and True Love on BBC First, and Life Below Zero, Future of Nature, and World’s Most Dangerous Roads on BBC Earth.

Furthermore, BBC Studios announced the promotion of Zbigniew Pruski to VP, Commercial Partnerships, CEE & MENAT. With almost 20 years of Pay TV experience, Pruski will oversee business relations and key partnerships in the MENAT region, in addition to his existing responsibilities in CEE.
