Deutsche Telekom is set to release an upgraded version of its popular MagentaTV streaming device on January 16th, 2025. The second-generation MagentaTV streaming stick aims to provide a seamless blend of traditional television and a wide array of streaming options.
The device features a personalized home screen with a quick-launch bar and a unified search function for easy navigation. Its compact design, weighing only 74 grams, makes it highly portable. Connection is simple, requiring only an HDMI port and a Wi-Fi network.
This new stick is compatible with Telekom's updated MagentaTV subscription plans, offering access to over 160 HD TV channels. Users can also enjoy time-shifted viewing, cloud-based TV recording, and on-demand content via MagentaTV+. Popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and RTL+ are also supported.
Further enhancing its functionality, the stick provides access to thousands of apps through the Google Play Store. With 16 GB of storage, users can install numerous apps without storage limitations. The MagentaTV stick supports 4K/Ultra HD, HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, delivering a high-quality viewing experience. A quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and the Android TV operating system power the device's performance.
The MagentaTV stick will be available for purchase at €69 or can be rented for €3 per month.
