Disney has revealed its estimated monthly active users (MAU) for its streaming platforms: Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. These figures, representing Disney Advertising’s estimate of global and domestic (US and Canada) ad-supported MAUs, were announced by President of Global Advertising, Rita Ferro, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company boasts an estimated 157 million globally, and 112 million domestically, representing the average per month over the past six months.

Disney sits at the intersection of world class sports and entertainment content, with the most high-value audiences in ad-supported global streaming at scale,” said Rita Ferro, President of Global Advertising. “We wanted to be the first to offer our industry greater transparency into the methodology used to estimate our engaged global ad-supported monthly active users.”

The ad-supported MAU calculation is based on active accounts across Disney’s streaming portfolio that have viewed ad-supported content for over 10 seconds. Each account is then multiplied by an estimated number of users per account (a global average of 2.6, varying by application and region) to arrive at the total user estimate.
