Eutelsat has chosen Enensys Technologies to power its groundbreaking next-generation Direct-to-Home satellite platform, built on the innovative DVB-NIP (DVB Native IP) standard. This collaboration aims to revolutionize content delivery to diverse multiscreen environments, emphasizing flexibility, broad reach, and cost efficiency.
Enensys will supply the fundamental infrastructure for this platform, empowering Eutelsat to provide native IP satellite services. These services will encompass linear TV, video-on-demand, educational content, and more, all distributed using multicast adaptive bitrate (mABR) technology. “This is a pivotal transformation toward native IP satellite broadcasting,” said Regis Le Roux, CEO of Enensys. “Our solution unlocks new use cases across education, hospitality, edge caching, and multiscreen streaming.”
Currently deployed at Eutelsat’s Rambouillet Teleport, the platform is designed to assist DTH operators in expanding their reach to both connected and unconnected devices. This expansion opens exciting new revenue streams while simultaneously enhancing accessibility in underserved areas. “Enensys was a natural choice,” said Annamaria Recchia, VP Commercial Development at Eutelsat. “Their expertise in DVB innovation and IP delivery makes them the ideal partner to shape the future of satellite-based multimedia.” A live demonstration of the DVB-NIP platform will be showcased at IBC 2025, taking place from September 12–15, providing attendees with a preview of the future of satellite broadcasting.
