A significant advancement in the German television market has been announced with the joint venture between SEI Robotics and HD Plus. The two companies have collaboratively unveiled the Google-certified S905Y5 Android TV 14 IP TV stick, available since mid-September 2024.

This innovative device provides access to television programming via the internet. It boasts impressive specifications, including the Amlogic S905Y5 chip featuring a quad-core 2.0 GHz (ARM Cortex-A55) CPU, ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of storage. The device is notable for being the world's first Netflix and Google-certified S905Y5 Android TV 14 IP TV stick.

“We’re honoured to partner with HD Plus to launch the world’s first Netflix and Google-certified S905Y5 Android TV 14 IP TV stick in just three months, combining the power of Android TV, Netflix and Dolby Audio. This collaboration provides all households in Germany with the flexibility, personalisation, simplicity and affordability of our TV stick, allowing users to truly enjoy smart entertainment,” said Jeff Yin, CEO of SEI Robotics.

Andreas Müller-Vondey, Managing Director of HD Plus, provided further insight: “In Germany, over 45% of television households currently watch their TV programmes via satellite. The HD+ IP TV stick enables us to address all other TV households in Germany. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy television with the latest HD+ functions. The HD+ app is available immediately after switching on the device and starts directly with the TV programme. Together with SEI Robotics, we have succeeded in developing a very high-performance and easy-to-use stick in a very short implementation time.”
