Hughes Network Systems has achieved a significant milestone by shipping over 5,000 electronically steerable antennas (ESA) for use with the Eutelsat OneWeb Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation. The HL1120W terminal is designed for outdoor installation and features a phased array antenna with no moving parts. This terminal has been rigorously tested and confirmed to support service via the OneWeb network at impressive speeds of 195 Mbps down and 32 Mbps up.

The production of these terminals takes place at a new Hughes facility in Germantown, Maryland. Paul Gaske, COO of Hughes, highlights the transformative nature of the digital landscape, stating, “We are seeing a digital transformation of both business and government services. This is creating a future where high-speed, low-latency connectivity needs to be ubiquitous." He further emphasizes the EchoStar family's commitment to meeting this demand by developing cutting-edge enterprise-class technologies that span multiple orbits, transport methods, and offer global accessibility.
