Boost Graphics, the international graphics and virtual production subsidiary of EMG/Gravity Media, announced the successful delivery of an immersive virtual experience for a major English football league. Utilizing a powerful combination of industry-leading software and gaming technology, Boost Graphics has crafted immersive, real-time visuals that elevate the viewer experience.
The Boost Graphics team employed a sophisticated blend of tools including Unreal Engine, Cesium, Google Maps, MapBox, Cinema 4D, After Effects, and Premiere. This seamless integration allowed for fast turnaround and high-quality visual output, setting a new standard in sports broadcasting. A unique feature was the creation of detailed nighttime maps, meticulously crafted with accurate stadium lighting.
The inclusion of streetlights, seas, and rivers was achieved through MapBox data integration and custom shaders. These enhanced graphics benefit broadcasters, rightsholders, football teams, venues, and viewers, providing a clearer understanding of stadium locations. The new visuals immerse viewers, bringing them closer to the action.
This marks Boost Graphics’ second year providing graphics for the top-tier English league, expanding on 12 animations from 2023 to 80 new variants this year. While currently exclusive to the Premier League, Boost Graphics is exploring expansion to other leagues and regions, offering additional commercial opportunities for rightsholders.
Frank Temmerman, Manager at Boost based in Belgium, commented: “Our team had a great time working closely with our client and diving into the world of English football. After this project, we now know our way around the UK better than ever. It’s been an exciting journey to bring these iconic stadiums and cities to life in a way that adds value to both broadcasters and fans.”
This project showcases the enhanced capabilities of the combined EMG and Gravity Media teams.
