Rakuten TV has officially launched its Enterprise Services business line, a move designed to empower content owners and distributors in the European market. The announcement was made by Rakuten TV CEO and President Cédric Dufour during the "Global Streamers Talks" session at MIPCOM 2024. He highlighted the partnership with Euronews, one of the initial collaborators in this new venture.
Built upon 15 years of in-house expertise in technology, content, and monetization, Rakuten TV Enterprise Services provides a cost-effective solution for launching and monetizing FAST channels and video-centric apps. The company's proven track record in managing over 100 localized owned and operated FAST channels across Europe, including platforms like Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, VIDAA, and Xiaomi TV+, positions them as a leader in content curation and distribution.
The Enterprise Services platform offers a cloud-based solution for seamless FAST channel launches. This includes standardized deal terms for swift contract sign-off, simplified onboarding, and advanced media asset management and scheduling tools with expert guidance. Rakuten TV takes full responsibility for platform deliveries, ensuring immediate content launch and monetization.
Beyond FAST channels, Rakuten TV's deep technical expertise extends to building OTT apps with multiple monetization models including FAST, AVOD, and TVOD. They aim to help content owners expand their reach on popular consumer electronics devices.
To power monetization, Rakuten TV Enterprise Services leverages its sister company, Rakuten Advertising. This European leader in CTV inventory boasts local sales teams, strong connections with leading advertising agencies, and seamless integration with major SSP and DSP platforms. Enterprise clients become part of a vast advertising network, ensuring access to high fill rates and optimal monetization potential.
In addition, Rakuten TV is expanding its TVOD offerings for major telco partners, now featuring over 8,000 titles, including premium new releases from Hollywood studios and European independent filmmakers.
“Rakuten TV Enterprise Services marks a significant step forward for our company, as well as for content creators and platforms aiming to grow their audiences and boost their revenue in an increasingly competitive market,” said Cédric Dufour, CEO and president of Rakuten TV. “Rakuten TV Enterprise Services is built on the same proven technology and advertising infrastructure that drives our own success, and we’re excited to share these capabilities with our partners.”
“We have always pioneered the streaming trends because we have the internal agility to pivot our business according to the market and viewers evolution,” continued Dufour. “This is why now we have identified in ‘Rakuten TV Enterprise Services’ the solution that will allow our partners to generate a sustainable growth together with us.”
