The Travel Channel, broadcasting from the ASTRA 4A (4.8°E) satellite, has now fully switched to Viaccess encoding. Thus, the Travel Channel was the last to complete the full transition from the Cryptoworks encoding system to Viaccess PC 4.0. Travel channel is part of the Arqiva channel package, along with equally popular channels ESPN-classic, Hustler (PG) and Blue Hustler (PB), which were switched to the new encoding at the beginning of 2013. As we wrote earlier, the reason for the change of encoding from Cryptoworks to Viaccess is the piracy of the Cryptoworks system and the complete lack of support from its owner - Irdeto. Now this package of channels has become completely unavailable for free viewing through conventional satellite receivers with an emulator. For many satellite TV owners, this news is quite unpleasant, since the Travel channel is one of the most interesting and informative channels about travel. Plus, the channel has a Russian sound track. Unfortunately, Travel Channel is not even included in paid packages of Ukrainian satellite operators. Therefore, watching the Travel channel from the satellite is impossible in Ukraine without using paid illegal services.
