Well-known television producer Alexei Semenov intends to launch a city information channel Kyiv.Live a few months before the Kyiv elections, which will be held in August. Its editorial office will be located in the capital's business center Parus. Semenov told the publication NV about this.
“For six years now, I have been going to investors with a proposal to launch city channels. Because now, no matter what city you take, the broadcasting is controlled by the mayors. As a result, residents do not receive objective information,” Semenov, who previously served as the general producer of the Pryamy TV channel, explained to NV.
According to him, the channel is currently in the process of documentary re-registration, and as soon as everything happens, the investor will announce the start.
The investor of the channel is Vadim Stolar, a capital developer, a deputy from the OPZZh faction in the Verkhovna Rada and the head of its Kyiv party organization.
Stolar admitted: “Yes, it's true. I want to create an independent regional channel. I am sure that it will be in demand among Kyivans. Because, unfortunately, for many years there has been no TV in the capital that would cover issues relevant to its residents. This is the kind of TV channel we are making now.”
