4iG Group and RTL Hungary have announced a strategic partnership, aimed at bolstering the distribution of RTL Hungary's television channels and the RTL+ streaming service. The collaboration will also extend to joint efforts in program production.

Gabriella Vidus, CEO of RTL Magyarország, highlighted the positive impact on viewers: “This cooperation is of strategic importance from the point of view of RTL+, and is also an important stage in the transformation of RTL Hungary, where partnerships are key to creating long-term business sustainability.”

From January 2025, the 4iG Group will hold exclusive rights to sell and distribute RTL+ among domestic telecommunications providers, joining existing agreements with Vodafone Hungary and DIGI. RTL will continue to broadcast as a free-to-air channel.

The broadcast production division of 4iG Group will offer support to RTL Hungary for the UEFA Champions League matches. 4iG Group will provide detailed information on television subscription packages and RTL+ streaming service access when the ONE brand is launched.

Péter Fekete, CEO of the 4iG Group, emphasizes the significance of the partnership: “The partnership is not only an important stage in the ongoing competition for viewers and subscribers, but also supports the renewal of domestic television viewing habits, and thanks to our developments in the background, we can raise digital television and streaming services to a higher level in Hungary.”

The partnership encompasses the distribution of RTL Hungary's 12-channel portfolio, including four new second-generation channels launched in December 2023. This means RTL, RTL KETT?, RTL THREE, RTL GOLD, RTL OTTHON, Film+, Series+, Cool TV, Music TV, Kölyökklub, Miziklub, and Seriesklub channels will be available to all 4iG Group customers, based on their chosen subscription packages.
