Amazon Prime Video has revealed its comprehensive broadcasting team for the inaugural season of “NBA on Prime.” The lineup features seasoned play-by-play announcers, analysts, and sideline reporters with extensive backgrounds in professional basketball broadcasting.
Veteran play-by-play commentators include Ian Eagle, Kevin Harlan, Michael Grady, and Eric Collins. Eagle, with over three decades of experience, is the voice of the Brooklyn Nets and has covered NFL and NCAA games for CBS. Harlan, a long-standing broadcaster for “NBA on TNT,” started his career in 1989 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Grady, currently with the Minnesota Timberwolves, previously worked with YES Network and ESPN. Collins, the Charlotte Hornets' play-by-play announcer since 2015, also has experience with ESPN, Fox Sports, and the Big Ten Network.
The analyst roles are filled by former coaches and players. Stan Van Gundy, a former head coach for several NBA teams, will join Brent Barry and Dell Curry. Barry, a two-time NBA champion, recently held front-office and coaching positions with the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns. Curry, a 16-year NBA veteran, has been a commentator for the Hornets since 2009.
The sideline reporting team comprises Cassidy Hubbarth, Kristina Pink, and Allie Clifton. Hubbarth, formerly with ESPN, has covered NBA broadcasts and hosted various shows. Pink has contributed to Fox Sports’ NFL and regional NBA coverage. Clifton, known for her work with the Los Angeles Lakers, was the first woman to serve as a color analyst for a Lakers broadcast. These commentators join previously announced personalities Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, and Candace Parker.
Jared Stacy, global head of production at Prime Video Sports, stated that the team was chosen for its extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the league. Prime Video’s exclusive NBA coverage starts Friday, October 24, with a double-header to kick off the season. Further production details will be released closer to the launch.
