Apple has quietly announced a significant change: its streaming service, previously known as Apple TV+, is now simply Apple TV. This revelation was subtly included in the concluding paragraph of a press release concerning "F1 The Movie," set to premiere on the renamed service on December 12th, following a purchase window. "Apple TV+ is now simply Apple TV, with a vibrant new identity," the statement declared, unveiling the modification.

Apple TV is, of course, also the name of Apple's hardware device, with the Apple TV 4K being the latest model. However, the streaming service itself can now be accessed through a multitude of devices, including those manufactured by Amazon, Roku, and Samsung, as well as across various television platforms. This rebrand marks the first such change in the service's six-year history. While other streaming platforms have undergone numerous name changes, like HBO Max even reverting to its original title and Disney+ replacing its Star sub-brand with Hulu, Apple has remained consistent until now.

Notable shows available on Apple TV include "Slow Horses," "The Morning Show," "Ted Lasso," "Platonic," and "The Buccaneers."
