Deutsche TV-Plattform has announced the appointment of Nicole Ludwig as its new Managing Director. The decision was finalized by the organization’s board on November 18, 2025. Ludwig takes over from Carine Chardon, who is now with GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH after 17 years in the position.
Ludwig joins Deutsche TV-Plattform with over three decades of experience in the German media industry. Her background includes working for both commercial and public broadcasters, supporting the establishment of companies, and developing a broad network of international industry contacts. Before this appointment, she was an independent consultant.
Chardon's departure marks the end of a significant era, having shaped almost half of Deutsche TV-Plattform’s 35-year history. During her time, she played a key role in establishing the organization as a respected platform for Germany’s broadcast and TV technology sector.
Board Chair Nicole Agudo Berbel commented on the appointment of Ludwig, stating it signifies an important step forward for the association: “With Nicole Ludwig we have been able to gain an experienced manager for Deutsche TV-Plattform. She will bring new impetus to the organisation and further develop its activities in the dynamic German-speaking TV and streaming market with her expertise. I would like to expressly thank Carine Chardon for her tireless and highly successful commitment as the long-standing managing director of Deutsche TV-Plattform.”
Ludwig expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming challenge: “I thank the board of Deutsche TV-Plattform for its trust and I am excited about the new responsibilities. Changing viewing habits and rapid market transformation make a neutral, cross-industry forum like Deutsche TV-Plattform indispensable. Together with the board and the many committed members, I want to continue driving forward the development of the future technologies of digital television.”
