Bundesliga International has unveiled a comprehensive new broadcast strategy for the United Kingdom and Ireland, securing multi-year agreements with various media partners. This ensures fans in the region gain unparalleled access to German football across both traditional and digital platforms.
The initiative allows fans to follow top-tier Bundesliga action, including the exploits of England captain Harry Kane at FC Bayern München and rising star Jobe Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund, through a mix of pay-TV, streaming, and free-to-air options. Sky Sports retains its exclusive coverage of the Saturday “top match” (17:30 BST), along with highlights and weekly programming.
Prime Video joins the mix, securing rights to all Sunday fixtures on a pay-per-view basis. This includes the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and promotion/relegation playoffs. A significant step towards increased accessibility sees BBC Sport stream all Friday night matches free-to-air via BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website, and app.
The strategy features a groundbreaking collaboration with YouTube football creators. This marks the first time a major European league has granted live rights to such content creators. Popular channels The Overlap (Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright) and That’s Football (Mark Goldbridge) will each stream 20 matches in the 2025–26 season. The Bundesliga’s own YouTube channel will also show Friday night games and selected Bundesliga 2 fixtures.
“This multi-layered strategy reflects the diversity of our fanbase,” said Peer Naubert, CEO of Bundesliga International. “By combining legacy broadcasters with digital innovators, we’re redefining how top-level football is experienced in the UK and Ireland.”
The Bundesliga’s strong link to English talent continues to grow. This ambitious rollout aims to make “Football As It’s Meant To Be” more accessible than ever.
