The Bundesliga will once again grace Turkish television screens. Saran Media Group has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights for the German football league for the next four seasons, commencing with the 2025-26 season. The matches will air across its S Sport platforms, as confirmed by the DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga).
While financial details remain undisclosed, this agreement represents a reunion for the Bundesliga and Saran. The media group previously held broadcasting rights for the German league in Turkey until 2021. The renewed partnership underscores the league's significant appeal in Turkey, particularly given the considerable number of Turkish players currently competing in the Bundesliga and other top European leagues.
Among these players are notable talents such as Atakan Karazor (VfB Stuttgart), Salih Özcan (Borussia Dortmund), and Can Uzun (Eintracht Frankfurt). Peer Naubert, Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Bundesliga International, highlighted the historical connection: “Turkish players have a history of shining in the Bundesliga, from Halil Altintop, the highest-scoring Turkish player in league history, to Frankfurt’s rising star Can Uzun.” He further emphasized the league's increasing popularity in Turkey, stating, “Building upon this rich heritage, and leveraging the current crop of national team players starring in the Bundesliga, we have become the fastest-growing of the top five European leagues when it comes to fan interest in Turkey. Working alongside Saran, we aim to showcase the stories of Football as it’s meant to be, bringing the Bundesliga even closer to fans across Turkey over the next four years.”
Kenan Saran, CEO of Saran Media Group, expressed enthusiasm for the renewed partnership, stating: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Bundesliga, one of the world’s most exciting and competitive football leagues. Turkish football fans have shown incredible passion for the Bundesliga over the years, and we are committed to providing them with the best viewing experience possible.”
