CBS Sports and the Pac-12 Conference have announced a significant extension to their media partnership. This expanded agreement will commence with the 2025 football season and extend through the 2030-31 academic year, establishing CBS Sports as a leading media partner for the revamped Pac-12 Conference.

The deal ensures that CBS and Paramount+ will broadcast key Pac-12 football and men’s basketball events, including the highly anticipated annual championship games in both sports. The agreement guarantees at least three regular-season football games and three men’s basketball games per season on CBS and Paramount+, with additional games airing on CBS Sports Network.

This media rights extension is integral to the Pac-12’s broader restructuring efforts. The conference is poised for a relaunch ahead of the 2026-27 season, featuring both new and returning members. CBS Sports is the first long-term media partner officially announced for this new era. Further negotiations are underway, and additional partners are expected to be revealed soon.

Octagon, acting as the Pac-12’s exclusive media rights advisor, played a crucial role in negotiating both the initial 2025 agreement and this extended arrangement through 2031. The new Pac-12 membership boasts a diverse range of institutions, including Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, and Utah State. The conference also aims to add at least one more football-playing, all-sports member before the 2026-27 season begins.

Current projections place the new Pac-12 among the top five national conferences for both football and men’s basketball, based on various metrics such as College Football Playoff rankings, AP Top 25 placements, FPI averages, and NCAA tournament appearances.

Oregon State and Washington State will continue to operate under the existing Pac-12 structure through the 2025-26 academic year, thanks to a grace period granted by the NCAA. The complete realignment will be fully implemented in the 2026-27 season. For 2025, the Pac-12 has a unique one-season deal involving The CW, CBS, and ESPN.
