Ahead of the NFL’s 2025 kickoff, CBS Sports implemented substantial changes to its on-screen graphics during live game coverage. The most notable update is a redesigned Eyebar, their term for the score bug. Fantasy stats have been moved from the Eyebar to a smaller box in the upper left corner, mirroring the network’s leaderboard style used in golf broadcasts. This relocation allows the remaining Eyebar elements to expand vertically, increasing the screen space devoted to the game.

The current score now features a much larger font, nearly double its previous size. This echoes similar adjustments made by Fox Sports to its score bug for Super Bowl coverage earlier in 2025. The entire layout is more streamlined, with improved spacing. Team logos are larger, abandoning the previous practice of cropping them to fit smaller areas. As part of the screen decluttering effort, CBS removed virtual down and distance markers, instead incorporating this information into the space between team boxes, along with the quarter, game clock, and play clock.

The Eyebar's overall shape is less “bar-like,” gaining height while losing width. This differs from other NFL broadcasters who usually employ wider layouts. The Eyebar’s animation on screen entry highlights team logos and the CBS branding before settling into its final position. The new design minimizes bold 3D effects in favor of subtle depth effects. The network bug has moved to the upper right, appearing in a subtly bordered box, consistent with the fantasy box. A thin line accent in the fantasy box indicates ball possession. The network clarified that these Eyebar updates will not be implemented in college football coverage.
