In 2024, Czech Television’s digital platforms achieved significant success, reaching an average of 2.4 million users per month. iVysílání (iBroadcasting) emerged as the most popular online product, boasting an average of 1.4 million monthly users. CT24’s web and mobile news platforms recorded an impressive over 56 million views, further demonstrating the platform's reach.
The success extended to other areas. CT sport’s online platforms experienced a surge in viewership during the Ice Hockey World Championship. Over the past year, iBroadcasting viewers consumed a total of 195 million videos from a library of 23,000 programs. A notable trend is the substantial use of HbbTV and smart TV applications, accounting for almost half of the access. This includes more than 35 million views via smart TV apps compatible with most major TV brands.
“Digital services are one of the essential pillars for Czech Television, which allows it to reach the entire society across target groups. The total number of videos viewed on all online platforms of Czech Television last year reached 284 million, which proves that our digital platforms are a popular way to consume public works. They represent a way to deliver content in diverse formats and through modern platforms that meet the changing needs of viewers, which is why we will continue to focus on their significant development,” says Jan Soucek, CEO of Czech Television.
Czech Television's comprehensive online presence is evident in the impressive figures: 237 million video views across all online platforms, supplemented by an additional 47 million views through smart TV applications. This represents a four percent increase compared to 2023. The expansion onto YouTube in April 2024 further broadened their reach, resulting in 30,000 subscribers and 4.7 million video views in just eight months.
