At IBC2025, Dotscreen, a UI specialist based in Paris, revealed four new industry partnerships, solidifying its standing in the video streaming app market. Vincent Gattone, VP Business Development, told Broadband TV News editor Julian Clover that the company remains dedicated to a "best of breed" strategy for front-end development across connected devices, spanning from smart TVs to set-top boxes.
Among the fresh announcements is a collaboration with Nagra, integrating its OpenTV backend into Dotscreen’s ready-made Android TV UIs. Dotscreen has also teamed up with Zattoo, integrating its CMS into Roku apps to broaden its reach in German-speaking areas.
The company has strengthened its relationship with Synamedia, expanding the integration of Synamedia Go beyond smart TVs and Android TV to Senza streaming devices, while also enabling Synamedia’s Experience Manager to dynamically modify UI elements. In conclusion, Dotscreen has partnered with Bitmovin, supporting projects on niche and legacy devices, including deployments for operators SFR, Orange and Bouygues in France.
Gattone explained that this strategy illustrates Dotscreen’s conviction that "no single company can do everything well," highlighting the significance of partnerships in providing a complete ecosystem to clients. He added that operators are increasingly aiming to refine their user interfaces. "We believe in TV evolution, not revolution," he said. "You don’t want to change everything overnight and alienate half your client base. It’s about subtle refreshes that keep users engaged."
