Mediaite has expanded its YouTube network by partnering with three prominent former CNN personalities. Alisyn Camerota and Dave Briggs, both veteran anchors, will launch “Sanity,” a Mediaite-backed video podcast. The show aims to provide insightful analysis with “curiosity, irreverence and an open mind” in a “non-finger-wagging way.” Camerota, who left CNN in 2024 after anchoring “New Day” and “CNN This Morning,” and Briggs, who co-anchored “Early Start” until 2019, have already begun collaborating on the project.
Joining them is former CNN White House correspondent Jessica Yellin, who will bring her established “News Not Noise” program to the platform under Mediaite’s umbrella. Mediaite founder and publisher Dan Abrams stated, “You don’t have to be a political extremist to see massive success on YouTube. Alisyn, Dave and Jessica are engaging and trusted voices. We’re excited to help them connect directly with audiences who crave independent thinkers offering smart and maybe unpredictable conversation and analysis.”
The details of the financial agreements and the level of operational independence for each channel remain undisclosed. However, this move highlights a growing trend of established journalists transitioning to the creator economy. Examples include Chuck Todd’s relaunch of “The Chuck Toddcast” and Don Lemon’s “The Don Lemon Show,” launched after his departure from CNN. Lemon's venture, initially planned with a partnership with X (formerly Twitter), was ultimately canceled.
