The HD+ TV app has received a major update, significantly expanding its content library and user experience. The enhancement centers around the integration of RTL Deutschland’s streaming service, RTL+. This integration provides HD+ satellite and IP users with access to catch-up TV from nine RTL channels for up to seven days after broadcast, completely free of charge.

Viewers can now easily access shows from channels like RTL HD, VOX HD, and Super RTL HD through the HD+ guide or the app’s search function. Popular shows, such as “Let’s dance” and “Who wants to be a millionaire?”, are prominently featured, allowing instant playback via the RTL+ app with a single click.

Beyond catch-up TV, the HD+ TV app already offers a vast library of missed programmes from over 100 channels, totaling more than 120,000 programmes. A new key feature clearly indicates whether a programme is available live, in the catch-up library, or on a streaming service. The convenient restart function allows viewers to join programmes already in progress across more than 100 channels.

The app also incorporates RTL+ premium content, accessible via the search function. Premium programmes are clearly highlighted, and users can subscribe directly within the app. "By integrating RTL Deutschland content into our HD+ TV app, we are creating a unified platform where viewers can easily find and access their favourite programmes, whether they are free or paid content," stated Andreas Müller-Vondey, Managing Director of HD Plus.

Andre Prahl, Chief Distribution Officer at RTL Deutschland, added: “The integration of the RTL+ app into the HD+ offering makes accessing RTL+ premium content much more seamless. The restart function for past and current programmes enhances the convenience of using RTL Deutschland’s high-quality content.” This update follows HD+'s recent agreement with ProSiebenSat.1 to integrate Joyn into its TV app, further expanding its content offerings.
