Hearst Networks Germany and Sky Deutschland have solidified their longstanding collaboration with a new multi-year agreement. This deal secures the ongoing broadcast of The History Channel and Crime + Investigation across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Sky customers will continue to enjoy both channels linearly and on demand through various platforms including Sky Q, Sky Stream, and WOW (or Sky X in Austria and Sky Show in Switzerland).

The agreement also maintains Sky Media's role in handling advertising sales for both channels. Kathrin Palesch, Managing Director of Hearst Networks Germany, stated, “Hearst Networks and Sky share a long-standing partnership. With the multi-year contract extension for the German-speaking region, we underline our previous trusting collaboration and add another chapter to it. Sky stands for excellent entertainment and a high level of adaptability in a rapidly developing market. We reflect this at Hearst Networks too and enrich Sky’s line-up with factual entertainment of the highest production quality.”

Wolfram Wildhagen, Senior Vice President Consumer & Commercial at Sky Deutschland, emphasized the channels' importance: “The History Channel and Crime + Investigation have been an integral part of our offering for more than 16 years and provide the ideal complement to our factual entertainment portfolio of Sky Nature, Sky Crime and Sky Documentaries. By extending our partnership with Hearst Networks, we are strengthening this documentaries portfolio in a sustainable way – and offering even more relevant, high-quality content for a steadily growing demand.”

Upcoming programming on The History Channel includes Kevin Costner’s The West (from 7 September), the Leonardo DiCaprio-produced documentary event Sitting Bull (6 September), and series such as Secrets Declassified with David Duchovny and The Greatest Discoveries with Dan Snow. Crime + Investigation will feature Cold Case Files – Dead West, along with specials like The Child from the Fire – The Delimar Vera Case (29 September), Jack the Ripper – Bloody Headlines (26 October), and the series Secrets of the Bunny Ranch – The TV Brothel (from 9 October).

Access to The History Channel is available to all Sky customers with the Entertainment Plus package on Sky Q via satellite and cable. Crime + Investigation is also included in the same package via satellite and accessible through Sky’s streaming platforms.
