Imagine Communications and Rohde & Schwarz have entered into a final agreement for Imagine to take over Pixel Power, a fully owned subsidiary of Rohde & Schwarz. The completion of the transaction is anticipated in 2025, pending standard closing procedures. Pixel Power specializes in software-based solutions for multiviewing, monitoring, and playout automation.

The acquisition will incorporate Pixel Power's technology and personnel into Imagine Communications, expanding Imagine's offerings in live production and playout. Imagine intends to keep Pixel Power's development center in Cambridge, England. This move is in line with Imagine's strategy to grow its IP- and cloud-based product range. Pixel Power's platforms, including PRISMON, Gallium, and StreamMaster, will integrate into Imagine's product ecosystem, which already features the SNP multiviewer.

The companies state that this combination will offer a wider array of multiviewer and production tools to clients transitioning to IP and hybrid workflows. Rohde & Schwarz intends to concentrate its business on test and measurement, technology systems, and cybersecurity. Pixel Power’s current CEO, Thorsten Sauer, stated that the acquisition sets the stage for future growth under new ownership. James Gilbert, deputy CEO of Pixel Power, mentioned that the transition would enable increased innovation and improved customer support. Imagine Communications plans to showcase Pixel Power’s solutions at NAB Show New York 2025, scheduled for October 22-23 at the Javits Center.
