Tegna’s KSDK has announced plans to leave its long-time home at 1000 Market St. in downtown St. Louis by the end of 2025. The NBC affiliate has been broadcasting from this downtown site since 1982. This move follows a similar decision by Gray Media’s KMOV, which relocated to Maryland Heights in late 2023.

While the exact new location hasn't been revealed, KSDK is finalizing a lease for a new space within St. Louis city limits. “Staying within St. Louis city limits has been a top priority as we plan our move to a new facility,” said Alicia Elsner, GM and president of KSDK. “Our goal is to finalize a space that fosters collaboration and innovation, while offering security, ample parking, and minimal commuting disruption.”

KSDK’s current building, encompassing 70,000 square feet and valued at $5.2 million, will be sold. The decision to move is partly driven by employee concerns. Approximately 75% of KSDK’s 135 employees currently park in a nearby garage and walk to the station. Elsner emphasized the importance of secure, on-site parking, citing increased safety concerns following several incidents near the current location last year.

This exodus from downtown mirrors similar moves by other businesses such as FleishmanHillard and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
