Liberty Global, the parent company of Virgin Media O2 and VodafoneZiggo, has initiated a voluntary redundancy program affecting a significant portion of its workforce. The company confirmed that approximately 800 of its 1,900 employees have been offered voluntary redundancy packages.

In a statement to Broadband TV News, Liberty Global explained the rationale behind the restructuring: “We’re reshaping our internal structure so that our operating model is positioned for future growth and long-term success. This isn’t about cost-cutting; it’s about being agile, competitive, and aligned with the evolving needs of our customers and markets.”

Reports suggest that the job losses will impact employees across several key locations, including London, Denver, and Amsterdam. Further adding to the restructuring efforts, the Financial Times reported that Liberty Global is also planning to divest one of its two Dassault Falcon corporate jets.
