MainStreaming provided crucial support for DAZN's exclusive broadcast of the FIFA Club World Cup, delivering all 63 matches free-to-view. This involved a significant expansion of the DAZN Edge infrastructure, a Private Edge Video Delivery Network developed by MainStreaming.

To ensure seamless streaming for fans worldwide, MainStreaming deployed new Points of Presence (PoPs) across Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. These additions joined existing PoPs in Italy, Spain, and Germany, significantly enhancing the network's global reach.

DAZN Edge, designed specifically for live sports, guarantees high performance, scalability, and low latency. This is especially critical during peak traffic events, like the FIFA Club World Cup. The expansion of PoPs boosted the resilience of DAZN’s delivery capabilities, handling millions of concurrent viewers throughout the tournament. “Ensuring a flawless and engaging viewing experience for fans around the world is our priority, and our collaboration with MainStreaming plays a key role in achieving this,” said Vincenzo Roggio, Head of Distribution Engineering at DAZN. “DAZN Edge was deployed by MainStreaming to meet our specific requirements for a dedicated Private architecture. The addition of new Points of Presence in key global locations ensured a superior streaming experience, minimising buffering and maximising the quality of service for millions of concurrent viewers.”

Tassilo Raesig, CEO of MainStreaming, commented: “By expanding the DAZN Edge infrastructure, we are ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and the highest quality of experience for millions of football fans worldwide. This expansion is a testament to our commitment to revolutionising live sports streaming by providing scalable, efficient, and sustainable media delivery solutions.”

The tournament itself, held from June 14th to July 13th across 12 venues in the United States, featured 32 top clubs from every continent.
