NBC 4 and Telemundo 52 have announced the launch of their eighth annual “Helping Our Community” campaign, dedicated to supporting regional food banks throughout Southern California this holiday season. The initiative, which kicked off on November 24th, will continue through December 31st.

The primary goal of the campaign is to raise funds to provide meals for families in need across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties. Since its inception in 2018, "Helping Our Community" has successfully raised over $2.7 million, which has translated into more than 11.1 million meals distributed throughout the region.

Community members who wish to contribute can do so in several ways. One option is to text the word "452" to the number 707070. Donations can also be made in person at participating Ralphs and Food 4 Less supermarkets. Furthermore, a QR code will be displayed during broadcasts, offering yet another convenient way to donate.

According to NBCUniversal, all proceeds generated through the campaign will be directly allocated to food banks and local pantries, including the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Second Harvest Orange County, Feeding America Inland Empire, and Food Share Ventura County.

"We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our viewers and community partners," stated Todd Mokhtari, president and general manager of NBC4 and Telemundo 52. "Year after year, your support helps provide thousands of meals to families who need it most. Together, we are making a real difference and bringing hope to our neighbors during the holidays and beyond.”

The stations will feature stories related to the campaign across their various news programs, including morning, mid-day, and evening newscasts. Campaign-related content will also be available on multiple platforms, such as the NBCLA and Telemundo 52 mobile apps, their respective YouTube channels, and the 24/7 local news streaming channels NBC Los Angeles News and Noticias Telemundo California.
