NBC Sports has announced the return of Betsy Riley as Senior Vice President and Coordinating Producer for NBC Olympics. Riley, a longtime staffer who previously worked at Amazon Prime Video, will oversee the primetime coverage of future Olympic Games, starting with the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy.

Riley's career spans over two decades, marked by significant contributions to NBC’s Olympic coverage since 2004. Her roles at Amazon Prime Video included work on “Thursday Night Football,” the 2023 Black Friday NFL game, and the launch of National Women’s Soccer League coverage. Even while at Amazon, she continued to contribute to NBC's Olympic productions, including primetime swimming coverage for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

“We are thrilled that Betsy Riley is coming home to NBC,” said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president, NBC Olympics production, in a statement. “I’ve worked with Betsy for more than two decades, and her experience producing the Games’ highest-profile sports makes her the perfect person to oversee the Primetime Show. She brings the unique combination of a live-event producer’s instincts and an Olympic veteran’s expertise. Betsy is a terrific leader and innovator whose creativity will be vital as we continue to build off the success of Paris and reimagine how NBC presents the Olympics in Milan, L.A. and beyond.”

Riley's accomplishments include being the first woman to produce Olympic track and field (Rio 2016) and producing all track & field for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Beyond the Olympics, she has worked on NFL coverage and multiple Triple Crown campaigns. An eight-time Sports Emmy Award winner, she was also named one of Sports Business Journal’s “Game Changers” in 2024.
