Peacock will be the exclusive streaming home for 20 Big 12 men’s basketball games starting in the fall of 2025. This is thanks to a newly announced multi-year agreement between NBC Sports and the Big 12 Conference. Each season, Peacock will feature 20 conference and non-conference matchups as part of NBC Sports’ expanding college basketball coverage.
This deal significantly boosts Peacock’s live sports offerings. In the 2025-26 season alone, the platform will carry almost 200 men’s and women’s college basketball games from various conferences, including the Big Ten and BIG EAST. Adding to this already impressive lineup, NBCUniversal will also begin broadcasting NBA games in the 2025-26 season, with WNBA games following in 2026. This strategic expansion highlights the platform’s commitment to major sporting events.
The Big 12’s strong showing in the 2024-25 season undoubtedly played a role in securing this partnership. Seven Big 12 schools earned NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament berths, with Houston reaching the national championship game. Other participating teams included Iowa State, Texas Tech, Arizona, BYU, Kansas, and Baylor. A remarkable four teams advanced to the Sweet 16, a feat unseen since 2002 for the conference. Houston’s Final Four appearance in San Antonio, its second in five years, further solidifies the conference's competitive prowess. The Big 12 has had at least one Final Four team in five of the last seven tournaments, with national championships claimed by Kansas in 2022 and Baylor in 2021.
Peacock’s current sports portfolio already includes prominent events like Sunday Night Football, Big Ten football and basketball, the Olympics, Premier League soccer, and Notre Dame football. The platform boasts an impressive reach, with comScore reporting nearly 100 million monthly active users.
Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark commented on the agreement, stating, “The Big 12 is thrilled to partner with NBC Sports and Peacock. Alongside our portfolio of existing media partners, NBC Sports and Peacock will provide our league with unprecedented promotion and storytelling.”
NBC Sports President Rick Cordella echoed this sentiment, saying, “We look forward to partnering with the Big 12 to showcase its top-tier college basketball players, teams and rivalries.”
The Big 12 Conference, celebrating its 30th anniversary, comprises 16 universities across 10 states. Member institutions include Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah, and West Virginia.
